What would I-2124 do?
Take away long-term care benefits from 3.5 million working Washingtonians

I-2124 increases costs for working people, including nurses, teachers and firefighters, by eliminating Washington’s long-term care insurance program for 3.9 million people.

I-2124 will send more people into debt when faced with expensive long-term care bills and private insurance premiums they can't afford. And it will cause more people, mostly women, to leave their jobs to provide unpaid care for loved ones with disabilities, or who are sick or aging.

I-2124 is opposed by the WA State Nurses Association, AARP, League of Women Voters, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and more than a hundred doctors and other health care professionals.

I-2124 is opposed by these respected organizations, and funded by Republican mega-donor Brian Heywood.

If I-2124 passes, more people will be faced with expensive long-term care bills and private insurance premiums they can't afford. Middle and low income families are least able to afford private long term care insurance or to pay out of pocket for care, especially because the vast majority of people have less than $5,000 in savings.

If I-2124 passes, Washingtonians will once again be at the mercy of big for-profit insurance companies that routinely jack up premiums and deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions. That’s unacceptable.

Vote NO on I-2124.
