Statement from Defend Washington on last night's initiative results
Reiny Cohen, Defend Washington Director said:
"Brian Heywood and his PAC Let's Go Washington failed again. Heywood failed to give himself and other mega-millionaires a tax cut and take away billions from education and healthcare with I-645. He failed to institute his MAGA agenda on our schools and put vulnerable kids at risk with I-001. And he failed in the effort to turn out conservative voters to elect anti-LGBTQ+ Congressional candidate John Braun by scapegoating trans children using I-638, which many say will be found unconstitutional."
Heywood admitted to funders' fatigue in an interview with Fox 13 last night, saying "I’ve been funding a lot of this, so I’ve been saying 'Hey, I’m gonna do this, anybody with me?’ And trying to get people to come along."
As we previously noted, Heywood has failed to raise enough to pay himself back for $4.65 million in interest-free loans to Let's Go Washington.
